Benny's life was ended after a tragic auto accident, in which he suffered a severe cerebral concussion. He passed away at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Kirkwood, St. Louis County, MO. Funeral arrangements were prepared by Rainey Funeral Home (previously named Duffy Funeral Home).

He attended Bernie High School in Bernie, MO. His school dismissed classes so that his friends could attend his funeral.

Benny is remembered as a very pleasant young man, with a quiet manner. He loved to tinker with things, building and creating things; he loved to collect arrowheads. He was a hard worker and well respected.
