He was born November 6, 1887, at Moorefield, Nebraska, the son of Alonzo and Mary F. (Johnson) Kelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John William Kelly and Frank Pearl Kelly; and two sisters, Minnie Sarah Giles and Ida Mae Kelly.

Burial is in the Farmington Cemetery, at Farmington, Arkansas.
