Flinton Man Dies From Injuries
Was Born At Westover, Son of Jesse and Vance Hockenberry
Robert Wayne Hockenberry, well known resident of Flinton, died Sunday evening at 5:15 o'clock at the Philipsburg State hospital, death being due to injuries received on Oct. 19 while loading coal in the Colonial mine, No. 5 of the Northern Cambria company. Mr. Hockenberry was born at Westover on July 25, 1895, but had resided in Flinton for some years. He was the son of Jesse and Vance Hockenberry, who survive, with his wife, Annie Mays Hockenberry, and three children, Jesse, Chester and Laura Mae, all at home, and these brothers and sisters: Ross, Melvin and Merl, of Flinton; Martha of Holsopple, Mrs. Lena Morrison and Mrs. Catharine Kline, of Irvona; Mrs. Mae Woodside of Emeigh Run, Mrs. Belle Kitchen of Westover, Mrs. Edith Bearer of Tide and Mrs. Nellie Hise of Dexter, N.Y. Funeral services were held at the Beaver Valley church.
