Rhyan DeWald, 80, of Logandale, Nev., and formerly of Twin Falls, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1993, at his home.
He was born Feb. 3, 1913, in Wishick, N.D., to Jacob and Eva Mier DeWald. On March 1, 1942, he married Elsie Marie Kennedy in Hawthorne, Nev.
Mr. DeWald grew up in North Dakota, Canada and Idaho. In 1941, he moved to Hawthorne to which allowed him to travel throughout the United States. In 1951, he started work at the Nevada Test Site until he retired. After spending several years in Portola, Calif., he moved to Logandale in 1991. His early church activity was in the Lutheran Church. He enjoyed music and working with his hands.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie of Logandale; his son, Bruce of Las Vegas; two granddaughters, Mrs. Tim (Toni Marie) Ford and Mrs. Jon (Tina Michelle) Bowman, both of Las Vegas; two great-grandchildren; one brother, William and wife, Carol; and four sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Emma) Kevan, Mrs. Pauline McCoy, Mrs. George (Ruth) Denton and Mrs. Frieda Wolfe, all of Twin Falls. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Adam and Theodore.
The funeral was held Saturday at the Metcalf Mortuary in Logandale. Interment will be at the Logandale Cemetery.
