Funeral services were held for Hubert Baxter, 90, of Lucedale, July 19, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. from Barton Baptist Church.
A native of Burbank, AL., he was a farmer and a member of Barton Baptist Church. He died July 17, 2003.
He is survived by his eight children, Travis (Lois) Baxter, Vermell Steede, Doris (Johnnie Ray) Brown, Christine (Ralph) Tucker, Alvin (Annie Lois) Baxter, James Rayburn Baxter, Ollie Ruth (Roger) Gilbert, and JoAnn (Russell) Bellisle; 24 grandchildren; and 57 great-grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; brother, Johnny (Margie) Baxter; sister, Florence (Walter) Reinhaus; sister-in-law, Gussie Scarbough; and close friend, Hank Minner.
Pallbearers were Michael Baxter, Allen Gilbert, Spencer Gilbert, Alvin Baxter, Donnie Brown, James Baxter, Shannon Pitts and Phillip Pitts.
Honorary pallbearer was Bobby Baxter.
Interment was held in the Barton Baptist church Cemetery with Rev. John Henry and Rev. James Sanders officiating the services.
Sigler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
