James Ellis Gordon, age 80 passed peacefully at his home on October 17th 2008. He will be missed so much by his family and friends.Born on July 8th 1928 in Stewartsville, Missouri. He was a farmer and a carpenter. He served as a Sergeant First Class in the Korean Conflict where he received the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Desperation Church in Liberty, Missouri. He was life-long member of the Disabled American Veterans Assoc. The Veterans of Foreign Wars post 4428 and the American Legion Post 0097. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Trella Catherine; his parents Ellis and Trella Gordon; three brothers Paul, Walter and Bill; his sister Darlene Lane and a half sister Elsie Smith;and a great-grandson Jacob Eads.
Survivors include his wife Eva (Bennett) Gordon of the home four daughters Joanne Kennedy; Donna Kennedy; Barbara Cantrell and Tracy Hall all of Plattsburg; two sisters Ruth Waters of Missouri City, Missouri and Maxine Lane of Gassville, Arkansas,10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
