James was a son of Wesley Smith Hardman and Mary Hill Gober. He was married to Eliza Penelope Taylor.James has two memorials. His death certificate states he was buried here at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Wellington, Collingsworth County, Texas. Find A Grave Memorial #31076077 is just a marker only with his wife. It appears they were buried in two different cemeteries, and he has a marker in each cemetery.

Resident Of Cross Roads Community Past 10 Years Dies Thursday
James Harrison Hardman, 80, died at his home in the Cross Roads Community Thursday morning, March 12, at 6 o'clock. Funeral services were held from the Primitive Baptist Church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E. J. Norman. Mr. Hardman came to Collingsworth County 10 years ago and settled in the Cross Roads Community. Since that time he has resided in that community and has made many friends in this county. He was born Feb. 28, 1856 in Georgia, and was 14 days past 80 years of age at the time of his death. Thirty-nine years ago Mr Hardman joined the Primitive Baptist Church, and since that time has been a devout member and loyal church subject. His passing is mourned by the many who knew him, and especially in the Cross Roads section where most of his closest friends resided. Mr. Hardman is survived by his wife, Mrs. Liza Hardman; Sam Hardman of Corsicana, Mrs. Ollie Grantham, Corsicana; Mrs. Ethel Perry, Corsicana; Mrs. Ruth Brim, Bloomington; E. C. Hardman, Littlefield; A. N. Hardman and Mrs. E. J. Trout, both of Wellington; J. C. Taylor, brother-in-law, of Wellington; also 17 grandchildren. Pall bearers were Clyde Emmert, Sam Koen, Ed Keen, J. I. Thomas, J. W. Masten and J. H. Handley. Flower bearers were: Dorothy Hardman and Verlyn Hardman.
