Upon arriving in Vietnam, Douglas was assigned to 2nd Platoon of India Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. Douglas died as a result of fragmentation wounds to the body from a hostile explosive device during Operation Hastings.
Tour of duty unknown.
Survived by his parents,"J" "A" and Gwynn French of South Houston, Texas.
