Rachel Ann Hendershott was born near Williamsport Pennsylvania, February 1 5th, 1830; died at her home in Akron, Indiana, November 10th 1898, aged 68 Years, 8 months and 25 days.

April 10th 1851 she was united in marriage with Lemuel N. Bitters. Five children were born to them in Pennsylvania and in September 1857 they brought their family to Indiana and landed in Akron September 5th. Three children were born to them in Indiana, all of whom are living, excepting Emma, the eldest who died at her home in Utah four Years ago.

About the year 1861 herself and husband both united with the Winebenarian church or Church of God to which faith she always clung and was a true and faithful Christian throughout all her long life and died triumphant in a living faith.

She leaves mourning her demise Mrs. Eliza P. Cornwell of Nebraska City, Neb., Mrs. Araminta Boyer of LaFayette, Ind., Mrs. Kate M. Chapman, of Salt Lake, Mrs. Ella A. Nixon, Winsted, Minn; Mrs. Alida L. Liverman, Denver Colorado, Mrs. Mattie Amos, of Salt Lake; Mr. Loyd Bitters, Salt Lake, and three step children, Jno N. Bitters of West Branch, Michigan; Mrs. Sarah J. Bowers, of Akron, Mrs. Abbie Barns, of Salt Lake City, her aged husband and one sister Mrs. Euphema A. Cole, of Wabash, Indiana, and seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grand children and a host of friends. To this large family she was a devoted and affectionate mother who will miss her.

Funeral will occur Saturday at 1:00 o'clock at the M.E. Church conduct ed by Rev. W. W. Brown.
