Roger Cornett, 51, of Glenwood, died Saturday, August 30, 2002, at hs residence.

Born October 25, 1951, in Gordon, KY., he was the son of the late Wilburn and Ruth (Eldridge) Cornett; she survives and resides in New Salem. He married Sandra J. Pea on November 11, 1972; she survives.

Mr. Cornett was a graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School, Class of 1972. He had worked as a fabricator at Meridian Automotive Systems in Shelbyville for 10 years. He was a member of the Buena Missionary Southern Baptist Church, a past volunteer with the Glenwood Fire Department, a master woodcarver and artist, and a member of the Raintree Woodcarvers Club in New Castle.

Survivors in addition to his mother and wife include one on, Joshua Cornett of home; one daughter, Cherisca "Cheri" Davidson of Connersville; one brother, Doug Cornett of Shirley; one sister, Trish Vickers of Glenwood; two half brothers, Justin and Rob Cornett; and one granddaughter, Haley Havidson of Connersville.

Services wil be held at 10 a.m. Tuesdayat Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville, with the Rev. James Hundley officiating. Burial will follow in Orange North Cemetery in Fayette County.
