Celestia's parents were William Bromley and Sarah Elizabeth Bullimore.

She tells the story, "Arrived in Utah on Sept 5, 1866 with the Samuel D. White Company.

In April 1865 we Left for America, going to Liverpool. We stopped there one night. Next day we had to go and arrange for our places on the sailing vessel, Belle Wood,. Th next day a pliot took us out on the open sea.

We were six weeks on the ocean. There were three deaths on our ship. We landed at New York, May 1865. The day we landed my brother, Ben, was not very well and as soon as we passed the examination, Father hired a hack to take us to Brooklyn, where we got two rooms at a hotel and stayed until June 20th."

She married Edward Buys in the Endowment house in Salt Lake on March 20, 1867. They were the parents of thirteen children:
