Mrs. Sharon Pace Baker, 56, passed away in Macon, Georgia on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 after a period of declining health. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1964. She attended Florida State University where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She represented her sorority in the Miss Tallahassee Pageant in 1965 and was selected Miss Congeniality. Sharon was a member of South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church and the Adams Weaver Sunday School class. She previously attended Hendricks Avenue Baptist church where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the St. Andrew Society. Sharon was a talented pianist, a lifelong history buff and loved to cook. Sharon adored her family and friends and was a person of very strong faith. Her life was an inspiration to all who knew hand loved her. Sharon is survived by her husband, Dr. Joel Baker; parents: Jack and Mary Catherine Pace; children: Brian Seale (Karen) of Montgomery Alabama, Julie Seale Brown (Philip) of Macon, Georgia, Robert Baker of Jacksonville, Amy Light (Randall) of Charlotte, North Carolina; sister, Patricia Pace Cochran (Ralph); grandchildren: Catherin and Harrison Brown, Morgan Baker, Shelby and Caron Light, and nieces Laura and Marianne Cochran.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd, South where the family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM on Friday.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church with Dr. Vincent K. Kolb officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
