CAL WINDHAM DEAD
Cal Windham died at his residence near Tecumseh at 10 o'clock Sunday morning May 12, 1901. While his death is not unexpected by his family and those acquainted with his condition yet they did not abandon all hope of recovery until last week. Sometime ago he came to Baird for medical treatment for kidney and stomach troubles and while here had a paralytic stroke from which he never fully recovered.

Cal Windham was born in East Texas January 11, 1849? and moved with his parents to Brown county after the war where he lived until the family moved to Eagle Cove in this county about 1876 or 1878 where he married Miss Alice Smith a year or two later. His wife and 4 children survive him.

Cal Windham was a peculiar man in many respects; a born cynic --to hear him talk --yet tender hearted as a child, and generous to a fault, and many a silent tear was shed at his funeral by his old friends and acquaintances. He was buried with Masonic honors last Monday at 10 a.m. by Tecumseh lodge of which he was a charter member in the presence of a large concourse of people, gathered to pay the last sad rites to their old neighbor.

To the wife and children and relatives we tender our sympathy and condolence.
