Mrs. Preston Dies at 86

Mrs. Lena Preston, 86, Dudley Community, died Saturday at 3:30 a.m. in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Troy Chrane in Dudley.

Funeral is pending and will be announced by Elliott's Funeral Home.

The former Lena Yost, Mrs. Preston was born Dec. 15, 1877, in Dayton Ohio. Her parents Philip and Caroline Yost, moved to the Colony Hill Community in 1878 and two years later moved to Tecumseh.

She married Henry Preston at Tecumseh in 1896. They moved to Oplin, where they farmed until he died in 1942. For the past several years Mrs. Preston had been making her home with daughters, Mrs. Troy (Josephine) Chrane, Mrs. Leo (Lena Mae) Chrane in Dudley and Mrs. Ruby Johnson in Abilene.

Mrs. Preston was a member of the Highway 36 Church of Christ.

Other survivors include three sons, Henry N. Preston of Gladewater, Walter Preston of Mineral Wells and George Preston of Abilene; a brother, Charlie Yost of Tecumseh; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

One son, Philip Preston, and a daughter, Mrs. Hilary (Minnie Bell) Windham, preceded her in death.
