Lifetime Whatcom County resident John Alex 78 died Monday, June 15, 1992 at his home. He was born in Sumas to Elfred and Jessie Alex. He attended Clearbrook School in Van Buren, Wash. He was married to Alice Reyman in Bellingham in 1937 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1987. Mr Alex was employed as a farmer, logger and the Whatcom County Road Department from which he retired after working 23 years. His hobbies included fishing, camping and gardening.
