Poindexter Rites Conducted in Oplin
Funeral for Mrs. Dora Poindexter, 56, long time, resident of Oplin, was conducted at 5 p. m. yesterday from the Oplin Baptist church by the Rev. T. W. Preston, Methodist minister of Dallas. Burial was in the Oplin cemetery under direction Elliott funeral home.
Mrs. Poindexter, who was born Feb. 2, 1888 in Alabama, died Monday in a Wichita Falls hospital following a long illness.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Louise Nobles of Oplin; one son, James Poindexter, stationed with the Army in England; four sisters, Mrs. Joe Slaughter and Mrs. Jess Poindexter both of Oplin, Mrs. Jess Shelburn and Mrs. Edward Shelburn both of Midland and one brother, Luther O'Shlelds of Midland.
