Mrs. Neal Succumbs
BAIRD (RNS) – Mrs. Mary Ellie Neal, 64, died at Callahan County Hospital at 5:10 am Wednesday after a month's illness.
Born in Arkansas Nov. 8, 1897, she came to Callahan County in 1900 and lived in the Oplin community for many years. She had been a Baird resident since 1938.
She married the late W. L. Neal Aug. 5, 1915, at Baird. He died in 1954.
Funeral will be held at 2 pm Thursday at the Wylie Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Eason, minister of Oplin Church of Christ, officiating, assisted by Otta L. Johnson, minister of the Baird Church of Christ.
Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery between Oplin and Dudley.
She is survived by five sons, Robert and Henry of Roscoe, Gerald of Baird and Harold and Nelson of Gardon Grove, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Yost of Oplin, Mrs. Emmie Groman of Baird and Mrs. Jack Russell of Dudley; five brothers, Mart Poindexter of Baird, Bullen and Tom of Oplin and Melton and Robert of Casa Grande, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Two daughters preceded her in death.
