Will Johnson, 74, Of Clyde Is Dead
CLYDE — Will Johnson, 74, a lifelong resident of the Oplin area, died Thursday at 10:45 p.m. at Cox Memorial Hospital, in Abilene. He had been in ill health for seven years and entered the hospital a week ago.
Funeral plans are pending with Elliot's Funeral Home in Abilene.
Mr. Johnson was born in Oplin in 1897. He was a rancher.
He was the son of the late Tom and Mary Betcher Johnson, pioneer residents.
Survivors include his wife; one stepson, Howard Chatham of Clyde; one sister, Mrs. Amelia Poindexter of Novice; two brothers, Andrew and Eulys Johnson, both of Clyde; and two grandchildren, William and Sherry Chatham of Clyde.
