Mrs. Hopkins, 84, Dies
Rites Today in Oplin Church
BAIRD (RNS) – Mrs. Alice A. Hopkins, 84, Oplin community resident 19 years, died at 10 am Wednesday in Callahan County Hospital here after and extended illness.
She lived with her daughter, Mrs. B. G. Poindexter of Oplin.
Funeral will be held at 3:30 pm Thursday at Oplin Baptist Church with the Rev. Aubrey McAuley, retired Baptist pastor of Abilene, officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery near Oplin with Godfrey Funeral Home in charge.
Born Sept. 6, 1880, in Eastland County, she was a Baptist. Her husband, Edward Hopkins, died in 1910.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Poindexter; two sons, L. B. of Pecan Gap and Monroe of Austin; one sister Emma Blair of 872 Peach, Abilene; one granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.
