WINTERS (RNS) – Mrs. Cornelia Poindexter Hooper, 80, of Winters died at 12:50 pm Sunday in North Runnels County Hospital following a brief illness.

Bruce Black of Main Street Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery near Oplin.
Born April 15, 1900, in Oplin, she moved to Concho County in 1939. She moved to Ballinger in 1957 and had lived in Winters for the past 10 years.

She married Dave Poindexter in 1917 in Oplin. He died in 1951. She married Ray Hooper in 1959 in Ballinger. He died in 1961. She was preceded in death by five children. She was a member of the Oplin Church of Christ.

Survivors include four sons, Alex Poindexter of Phoenix, Ariz., Jack Poindexter of Paint Rock, Donald Poindexter of Mineral Wells and Joe Poindexter of San Angelo; two daughters, Dorothy Jenkins of San Angelo and Florence Fowler of Big Spring; a brother, N. O. Lofton of Winters; three sisters, Ruth Bowen of Kermit, Goldie Henderson of Roswell. NM., and Ann Smith of Coleman; 34 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
