W.P. Barton, another one of Callahan County's prominent pioneeers died at his home near Eula. Graveside services were conducted by Rev. Dick Bright, pastor of the Baptist church in Oplin. The body was laid to rest near that of his brother, J.F. Barton who was buried there two weeks ago. Perry Barton, as he was called by those who knew him best, has been a resident of this county nearly 50 years. He had been engaged in ranching and farming in which he was successful. Survived by his wife; four sons - Alex, Evan, Wilson, and W.B. Barton; two daughters - Mrs. Clyde Johnson, Miss Winnifred Barton; three brothers - C.C., W.H. and Dave Barton; one sister - Mrs. Ramsey.
