NATIVE TEXAS WOMAN BURIED
Mrs. J. F. Barton, 79, dies at Farm Home Near Dudley

Last riles for Mrs. J. F. Barton, a native daughter of the state and resident of Callahan county for 58 years, were held yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the grave in the Tecumseh cemetery. Rev. Dick Bright, Potosi Baptist minister, officiated.

Mrs. Barton, 70 years old, succumbed Monday night at her farm home four miles southwest of Dudley, following an illness of two weeks. She had made her home in the same residence as a bride in 1875.

Mrs. Barton was the former Bettie Connell, born in Milam county. She was married there in 1875 to J. F. Barton and moved immediately to the Dudley community, where her husband had purchased land and established a frontier home. She resided there continuously until her death.

Four sons and four daughters survive; Lane Barton, Seagraves; J. G. Barton, Dudley; Seth Barton, Pampa; Homer Barton, Anson; Mrs. E. A. Jones, Seymour; Mrs. Sam Johnson, Temple: Mrs. E. J. Crawford, Dudley; Miss Euphia Barton, Dudley. Three sisters also survive, Mrs. Tod Windham, Oplin; Mrs. W. H. Puckett, Childress; Miss
Lou Connell, Canadian.

Mrs. Barton was a member of the Christian church and a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star at Oplin.
Burial was under direction of the Laughter Funeral Home.
