Obituary published in the Dayton Daily News of Fri 19 Oct 1962.
"A 22-year-old Dayton man who moved to California about 10 months ago became the second traffic fatality to involve his family within the past two weeks. John Edward Joo died Wednesday night from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident that occurred Tuesday in Pasadena, Calif., according to relatives here. Henry Joo, 54, the young man's father, who resided at 7641 Wilmington Pk., had died Oct. 4 in Miami Valley hospital from injuries he received three days earlier when his car left the road on State Route 73, just east of the Clinton-Warren county line. The younger Joo was employed as a heavy equipment operator in California. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Elisabeth Joo, three sisters and five brothers, all of Dayton. Funeral services are pending with the Schlientz and Moore funeral home."

"JOO, John Edward, age 22, of 320 S. Chevy Chase, Glendale, California, died Wednesday 11:35 p.m. in Pasadena, Cal. He was born in Hungary. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Joo of Dayton, 3 sisters, Mrs. John Heil, Mrs. John Campbell and Miss Mathilda Joo, 5 brothers, Henry Jr, Otto, Fred, Bill, and Ernie all of Dayton. Services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at the Schlientz and Moore funeral home, 1632 Wayne Av., the Rev. John W. Kurth officiating. Interment Woodland cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday."
