Jessie Hill was born in Nebraska, where she received her education to be a teacher. She came to Oregon in 1910 and worked in Redmond from 1919 to 1948 as a first grade teacher. In appreciation for all her years of service, a new grade school was named after her. This building was converted into the Redmond Library.
