H. B. Bryan was the tax assessor for Lubbock County and the president of First Federal Savings & Loan. He was a well-known politician and businessman in the Lubbock community. They contributed to the building of the congregation of First United Methodist Church in downtown Lubbock. They were survived by their two sons, daughters-in-law, and several grandchildren.
