Death of Jas. W. Clack
James W. Clack was born in England
July 7, 1822, and died in Oxford, Mich.,
June 7, 1903, aged 88 years and 11 mos.
He came to Michigan in 1840 and set-
tled on a farm northeast of the village.
He married Helen M. Johnston Sept.
19, 1852. They lived on the farm until
they moved to Oxford about 20 years
ago.
Four years after coming to town his
wife died, since which time he has lived
with his only daughter, Mrs. R. H.
Glaspie.
Mr. Clack was the oldest of five child-
ren and the last to pass away. He was
a man of sterling character and esteem-
ed by all who knew him. The funeral
services were held at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Glaspie. Rev. Cutler
had charge of the services.
