Harry was the son of Henry Binkley and Mary Bertram.

The Reading Eagle Newspaper carried his obituary January 14, 1901, page 2. As follows:

Death of Harry J. Binkley
Wernersville. Harry J. Binkley, a former well-known druggist of Reading died aged 37 years of appendicitis at 5 am today in Phila., where he had been located the past year. Deceased was ailing the past 2 weeks. He was the son of the late Henry Binkley and was born at Wernersville. He was a graduate of the Phila. College of Pharmacy and was in charge of Potteiger's Drug Store, 4th and Spruce Streets, a period of 3 years. He learned the drug business with Mr. Potteiger and was employed with him upwards of 7 years. At the time of his death, he was manager of a large drug house 3001 Richmond Street, Phila. Both of his parents are dead. He was single and is survived by these brothers and sisters: George, William, Vallie, Katie, and Candace all of Wernersville; James of Conshohocken ; Mrs. R.S. Fey of Orwigsburg; and Mrs. J.M. Shappell of Phila. Deceased was a member of Hain's Reformed Church.
