FUNERAL SET FRIDAY
FOR SOLDIER KILLED
IN WYOMING CRASH
Funeral services for Pfc. James M. Laird, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Laird, of 4814 Ash Lane are tentatively set for Friday, in the chapel of the Geo. A. Brewer Funeral Home.
He was killed Sunday along with three officers and five enlisted men when a B-24 bomber from the Casper, Wyo., Airfield crashed and burned three miles west of the field.
Private Laird was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, a major in the ROTC and president of his senior class. At North Texas Agricultural College, he was chief of the commando unit of the ROTC. He was a member of the East Dallas Christian Church.
An aerial gunner, Private Laird entered the service in February, and was recently transferred from Lincoln, Nebr., to Casper, Wyo.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Lewis Laird.
