SMATHERS Barbara J., 69, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sept. 7, 1999. Barbara was born on May 22, 1930, the daughter of John & Mary Ferguson. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1948. She met and married the love of her life, Donald R. Smathers, on March 10, 1950. She served the past 35 yrs. in Eastern Star and was a member of the Sheaf Chapter at the time of her death. She was a member of the Southwest Freewill Baptist Church and Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary. Barbarawas preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother, J.W. Ferguson; sister, Erma Frost; and mother-in-law. She is survived by her two sons, Charles K. & James R.; daughters-in-law, Nancy & Sherri; 3 grandchildren, Travis L. of OKC, Jason R. of Eufaula and Jennifer of Texas; brother, Charles P. Ferguson of OKC; and many beloved relatives and friends.
