Mr. Meherg was born the son of the late Mr. Ira Lee Meherg and the late Mrs. Minnie Bell Tarwater Meherg. He married Lydia Ann Fowler on June 8, 1968 in Heflin, Alabama and worked as a painter. In addition to his parents, Mr. Meherg was preceded in death by his brothers, Hoyt Lee Meherg, Willie Meherg and Olean Meherg. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mrs. Lydia Fowler Meherg; his daughter, Lisa Ann Driver; his son and daughter-in-law, Bradley Eugene and Diane Meherg. Mr. Meherg died at age 61 at his residence following an extended illness.
