Samuel Riddle was the son of Samuel Riddle and Jane Turner and born abt 1827 in Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. He served in the Civil War PVT CO C 78 PA VOL Philadelphia. His grandfather who's name was also Samuel Riddle was born in Ireland and served in the Revolutionary War.
