Lillie May Anderson, 71, of Portales, a cook, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Plains Regional Medical Center.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1929, in Austin, Texas, to James and Lulla Odessa Marsh.

She came to Clovis in the early 1960s and moved to Portales nine years ago. She was a cook in many restaurants and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Portales.

Survivors include three sons, Glen Stone of Texas and Freddy Stone and James Mitchell, both of Clovis; seven daughters, Linda Barksdale, Norma Jean Akines and Patricia Johnson, all of Portales; Charlene Stone of Maryville, Ohio, Terry Alexander of Lubbock, Texas, Ada Harrison of Kingdom, Kan., and Teresa Moore of California; two brothers, Johnny Stone of Clovis and Willie Stone, Jr. of Lubbock; 22 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Texico Cemetery. The Revs. Ted Bailey and Steve Franks will officiate.

Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home.
