The following information was received in June 2012 from Walter O. Thompson, Sr. (not a Find A Grave member) whose great-grandfather, Alfred Ward was a brother to Melvin:
Melvin Stringfield Ward was born 03 December 1876 in Illinois (probably in McLean Co., IL) and died 26 Sep 1886. He was the son of Noah & Tasy (Funk) Ward. Melvin was the grandson of Robert and Virginia Funk who are also buried in the Williams Cemetery.
