Albert Allen, 86, of Blue Mound, died at 12:20 p.m. yesterday in St. Mary's Hospital. He had been in the hospital one week.

Born December 5, 1868 in Clay County, he was a son of S. K. and Catherine Fleshman Allen. He was married to Minnie Baughman on March 6, 1924 in Decatur. She survives.

Also surviving are a grandson, Orville Ray Allen of Decatur, and two great-grandchildren. A son and a grandson preceded him in death.

Mr. Allen was a farmer in the Blue Mound area for many years. Following his retirement, he became a representative for the Ruhm Phosphate Co. and the Morrman Mfg. Co. in Blue Mound.

He was a vice president of the Blue Mound State Bank, a member of the Christian church and church board there, and served a number of years on the town's school board.

Funeral: Friday, July 8, 1955 Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home
Burial: Hall Cemetery.
