Phelan Chambers Accidentally Shot While Returning from a Hunting Trip

Phelan Chambers, the fourteen your old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fax Chambers, living in Olalla canyon, near Cashmere, died in the Leavenworth Hospital where he was brought last Saturday from the effects of a gunshot wound, and was buried the following day. With a boy friend of the family he had been a on a two weeks camping and hunting trip in the mountains. On the way when two miles from home, while handling a 22 caliber rifle, which was accidentally discharged, the ball entering his abdomen.

Phelan was the oldest son in the family who had long made their home in this vicinity. He was an unusually bright and ambitious boy, and took a special interest in the Red Cross work in his vicinity, and will be greatly missed in his home. The Leavenworth Undertaking Co, had charge of the body.
