Albert Ross Bert Creel, 59, died in a Birmingham hospital Wednesday morning at 7:00 o'clock. Death was due to complications following an operation for appendicitis that he underwent last Friday. Mr. Creel had been ill only about a week and his death was a shock to his family and friends. He was known by many people of this section of the state. He had been engaged in selling automobiles for over twenty years. At the time of his death he was connected with the Oneonta Motor Co. Mr. Creel was a native of Blount County, having been born and reared on Straight Mountain. He was the son of the late John and Lou Seals Creel. After completing his education he taught school in Blount and St. Clair Counties for several years before moving to Oneonta with his family in 1928. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Murtie Bellew Creel; four sons, Orman, Oneonta, John, Detroit; Clayton, Hanceville, and Ray Creel, of the U. S. Army in Europe; four daughters, Mrs. Bruce Fraschiseur, Oneonta; Mrs. Edward Bellenger, Cleveland; Mrs. Faith Dickson and Mrs. Everette Speaks, of Gadsden. Funeral arrangements have not been announced at time of going to press.
