"July 7 – Daniel Clemmens, 89, a life long resident, died of infirmities at his home Sunday afternoon after a long illness. Born in North Jackson, July 18, 1853, Mr. Clemmens was a son of Martin and Elizabeth Clemmens. In 1878 (?) he married the former Mary Etta Murphy, who died in November, 1942. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Federated church. Deceased leaves a daughter, Mrs. Alva Jones of this place; a brother, Wallace of Warren; a sister, Mrs. Mary McCollum of Milwaukee, Wis.; four grandchildren, and two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Federated church, with burial in the North Jackson cemetery."
