Longtime Estacada resident, James Orndorff died at his home on Saturday, October 18, 2008. He was 77.

A celebration of his life will be held in his favorite season late spring on his farm.

James Defoe Orndorff was born October 20, 1930 in Princeton, Missouri to Orville and Hazel (Glore) Orndorff. When he was five, his family moved to the Yakima Valley where they farmed. At the time of WWII, his family to Seattle where they worked for the war efforts. After the war, they moved back to the Yakima Valley. In 1950 James entered in the US Navy. After his discharge, he married MARGERY WAGGE and they moved to Kent, Washington. They had a son Robert in 1960. She died in 1968. On July 4, 1980, James married LORI HOLPUCH ERICSON in Reno, Nevada. They made their home in Eagle Creek and had a son Aaron in 1981. Jim owned and operated a Consulting business, Turban Technical Services. He retired to take care of his brother Ron and became ill in 2001.

The best parts of his life were spent on the farm in Eagle Creek with his brother Ron and his family. He was a kind honorable man with an amazing sense of humor who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife Lori; sons, Robert Orndorff of Kennewick, Washington, Aaron Orndorff of Eagle Creek, Oregon; daughter, Mikelle Ericson of Seattle, Washington; brothers, Dick Orndorff, Darrel Orndorff, LeAnder Orndorff, Peck McReynolds; sister, Patty Cochran and 6 grandchildren.
