Janie Vinson, age 86, of London, the widow of Clyde L. Vinson, died Monday, January 27, 2003, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. A daughter of the late Walter Orlander and Marvel Elizabeth Skinner Sims, she was born January 9, 1917, in Pope County. She was a homemaker, and was a long-time member of the Martin Chapel Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Wynonia Loise Vinson; a granddaughter, Mabel Brandon; two grandsons: Clarence Edward Brandon and Steven Brown; three brothers and eight sisters. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Patsy and Glen Brown and Wynemia Joyce Hazlett, all of London; a step-daughter, Bernice Brandon of Russellville; two grandchildren: Vivian Brandon and Mark Brown, both of London; three brothers: Truman O. Sims of London; Bennie Sims of Dardanelle; and Cletis Sims of Vernal, Utah; a great-granddaughter, three step-great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral will be 10 A.M., Thursday, January 30, 2003, at the Shinn Chapel with Rev. Claude Jackson, Rev. Arlin Elmore and Rev. Jerry Schlinker officiating. Burial will be in East Point Cemetery, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Active pallbearers will be Alfred Tucker, Terry White, R. J. Cochran, Earl Sanderson, Don Smith and Clarence Robberson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6 to 7 P.M., at the funeral home.
