RESOLUTIONS OF RESPECT.

Mrs. Emily Shaw, nee Davis, was born in Marion County, Ala., Nov. 25, 1820, married to Smith Shaw, March 3rd, 1842, died near Van Vleet, Miss, June 5th, 1906.

Whereas our Heavenly Father has seen best to remove from our midst our dear and aged sister, Mrs. Emily Shaw, and in remembrance of her Christian life, her fidelity to her family and her neighbors, and the long and tedious affliction which it was her lot to suffer.

Be it resolved that though the parting is for the present sad, we submit to the Divine will and rejoice in the thought of the blessed rest upon which we believe our sister has entered, praying and trusting that her life's influence may be sanctified to the good of those with whom she was associated, and lead us all to a more kindly and sympathetic interest in the aged and the afflicted.

Be It also resolved that our earnest sympathy be tendered the children and grandchildren of the deceased, and our prayers be lifted to God for they that may have grace for this time of need, and that this loss may be instrumental in bringing them into more useful and consecrated lives, and that we all cherish her memory and be more faithful to the God she worshiped.

Resolved furthermore that we forward a copy of these resolutions for publication, to The Okolona Messenger and Sun and the Houston Post.
