His mother was Phoebe Amy Moore Tipton (1767-1820), Father Thomas Tipton passed in 1820 in Burke County,Georgia. There is a Sardis Baptist Church historical marker in Sardis, Ga with their names listed as charter members, 1803.

He had seven brothers, John Green Tipton, Hiram Tipton, and William Tipton lived in Dallas County, AL. Thomas Tipton lived in Decatur County, GA, and Reuben Tipton lived in Burke County, GA, with Jonathan Tipton, Joseph Tipton, and one sister, Amelia Whanger.


Son - Ishiah Josiah Tipton was born in 1826. His Mother (Sarah Durham) died in childbirth. Married a Sheffield and moved to Leon County, Fl.


Daughter - Nancy married a Bachellar? She had two children. He died in civil war and she married Andrew Jackson Minter.


Daughter - Elizabeth married a Parker.


Daughter - Daughter, Martha Sanchinssa Tipton married David Tom Bolton. She passed in 1919 and is buried in Early County, GA. Only one son, James Albert Bolton is buried in the Sanchinssa Cem in Early County, Georgia.


Benjamin's son Nathan B. Tipton was a twin to Jane H.His grave has not been located.
