LAW.--Beatrice Louise Law died in Del Mar on September 22, 2OO8, at the age of 88. She was born in Albertville, Alabama on November 22, 1919, to Beatrice Belle (Housel) and Boyce Manrin Rains. She graduated from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama, in 1941, followed by graduate work at the University of North Carolina and at National University in San Diego.
She married Robert Lee Law Jr. in Albertville, Alabama on April 16, 1942. Shortly thereafter he left for Naval training and then sailed to the Pacific to participate in the war effort. In 1951, they moved to Chula Vista, San Diego County, California, and enjoyed many happy years together until Robert died in 1984.
Beatrice taught kindergarten at Harbor View Elementary in Imperial Beach for 21 years. After retiring from teaching, Beatrice worked in her daughter, Deborah's business, Hearing Dynamics. Family was always first with Beatrice and she approached life with a perfect blend of practicality, humor and Southern grace.
Survivors include a twin brother, Boyce Manrin Rains in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, a daughter, Beatrice Cecile Thompson of Selma, Oregon, a son, Robert Lee Law Jr. of San Diego, a daughter, Deborah Ann Law Cross of Del Mar, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Private burial at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary.
