Born in the community of Pella. Following Oscar's sudden death in 1926, his widow, Pearl, was left with six children between the ages of 8 months and 10 years. Pearl died just three years later, leaving the six children (by then, ages 3 to 13) orphans.

DNA has proven that Oscar was not the biological father of the oldest child, JAMES LOUIS BARTON. Please see the memorial for James Louis Barton to read about his paternity.
