Aunt Sylvia lived to be 95 years of age and maintained a relatively good quality of life. She is buried next to her husband John in the Mayfield Cemetery in Carlinville, Illinois.

SYLVIA MARIAN WHEATON LINK, 95, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2008. Born July 18, 1913, in Ramsey County, St. Paul, Minn., she was the third of 12 children and the daughter of Maud Lydia Lindberg and Charles V. Wheaton. She married John A. Link on Aug. 15, 1941. Together they had one son, John Wheaton Link. For many years, she worked at Western Union Telegraph Company, in Chicago, Ill. Following her retirement, she worked at the Y.W.C.A., in Evanston, Ill. until her move to Fort Wayne, in 1994 to be near son, John and his family. She is survived by her son, John (Carma); grandson, Jeremy David (Judy); and great-grandchildren, Ryan Jeffrey and Alyssa Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband, John on March 18, 1963. A private service for the family and burial will be held in Mayfield Memorial Cemetery, Carlinville, Ill. Preferred memorials to the Y.W.C.A. Arrangements by Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road.
