Jean E. Newman(nee Berquist), of Pedricktown, NJ, passed away on September 17, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with her lungs. Mrs. Newman was born in the State of Wisconsin but went home to live with her God. Jean was the daughter of the late Wendall and Ann Berquist and was predeceased by her sister Judy. Beloved wife of Henry Newman of 55 years, devoted and loved mother of Jeffrey(Karen), the joy and love of her life, grandson Ryan, sister-in-law Jean(Babe), niece Kim and nephews Keith and Kenneth.
Mrs. Newman graduated from Penns Grove High School and attended Trenton State College. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile, love of God and family and especially strong in her fight for life.
You have a star in heaven named after you that you can look down and watch over all of us.
The Newman family would like to thank the "Angels" in ICU of Salem Hospital for the special care they extended to Jean.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 1pm at the Pedricktown Methodist Cemetery.
