James H. Skinner
Cherokee -- James H. Skinner, 78, of Cherokee, died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Carmel Medical Center where he had been a patient for one week.
He was born on June 20, 1897, in Pennsylvania.
He was an employe of International Harvester in Chicago for 28 years. He retired in 1962 when he moved to Cherokee.
He was married to Verle Dick in 1948 in Chicago. She survives at the home in Cherokee.
Mr. Skinner was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion Post in Chicago. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge in Chicago.
Other survivors include one son, James D. Skinner, Manila, Philippine Islands; one daughter, Marguerite Leetz, Homewood, Ill.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Naylor Funeral Home in Weir.
