Funeral services for Mrs Albert L. Dawkins were held at the Independence church at New Era at 12 o'clock Tuesday with Rev. E. J. Roberts in charge and assisted by Rev. A. E. Kniceley. A brief service was held at Mineral Wells Tuesday morning. Mrs. Dawkins, who was 74 years old, died at her home Sunday evening about 6 o'clock. Mrs. Dawkins had been ill only five days at the time of her death and while her condition was known to be critical, the death was a shock to the members of the family and to her many friends. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Carl L. Dawkins of Akron, Ohio, and A. D. Dawkins of Wirt County; two daughters, Mrs. W. P. Dyke of Akron, Ohio and Mrs. Dan A. Wilson of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, G. N. Lockhart of Sandyville; Mrs. J. W. Archer of Ravenswood; Mrs. J. W. Vannoy of Sandyville; Mrs. Frank Leep of Parkersburg and Mrs. Arthur Dickson of East Liverpool, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and one (1) great grandchild. [​from the Betty Kessel McIntyre collection]
