Guy C. Lockhart Sr.
Mr. Guy C. Lockhart Sr., 86, of Parkersburg passed away Aug. 14, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Wirt County, W.Va., a son of the late Wirt and Almedia V. Courtney Lockhart. He retired after 26 years of service from Diamond Glass Co., previously he worked in the Coal Mines in Taylor County, W.Va., and he mowed and trimmed the Antioch Cemetery in Wirt County until May 2005.
Mr. Lockhart was a World War II Army veteran and a member of 36th Street Church of Christ in Vienna.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Freda L. Peters Lockhart, of Parkersburg; a daughter and son in law, Teresa (Pixie) and Ron Hinkle of New Martinsville; a son and daughter in law, Guy C. (Rusty) and Jamie Lockhart of Belpre; 4 grandchildren, James Moore Jr., and wife Lori, of Charles Town, WV, Christopher Matlack and wife Sarah, of Bridgeport, Susan Weaver and husband Toby, of Belpre, and Guy C.(G.C.) Lockhart III of Parkersburg; 5 great- grandchildren, Paige and Peyton Matlack, Annabelle, Little Rusty and Jeremiah Weaver; 1 special nephew and his wife, Jack and Dee McEldowney; 1 sister, Clara Green and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Terrance G. Burch; 1 brother and 7 sisters.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Evangelist Tom Butterfield officiating.
Burial in Antioch Cemetery, Wirt County, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 15. Visitation Tuesday 2-8 p.m.
