Born in Claybourne county, Tennessee, July 16, 1830. Came with his parents to Missouri in 1835, located in Jefferson county, Kansas in 1856, and was married to Elizabeth Lamar in November 1858. To this union were born three children, two of whom died in infancy, one son survives him. Became a christian in 1876, uniting with the Christian church. Died June 23, 1906, age 75 years, 11 months and seven days. Funeral services were held in the Christian church in this city Tuesday. Interment in the Lamar cemetery.
