FUNERAL FOR EDITH R. BOWER
Mrs. Edith Rebecca (Ball) Bower, 80, taken in death. Last rites will be in Fairfield, Ia. for former well known resident of Jefferson County who died Friday at the Pine Crest Home in Marion, Iowa. She had been ill health for the past year. Until moving to Marion, Ia. ten years ago, she had spent her entire life in this Jefferson County near Glasgow.
The rites Sunday will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Roland Crandall in charge. Burial will be in the Glasgow Cemetery.
She was Born January 13, 1883, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Frank and Anna Calhoun Ball.
She was reared and educated in this county, and was a member of the Methodist Church. On February 12, 1908, she was united in marriage to William Clarence Bower who preceded his wife in death on June 8, 1953.
Mrs. Bower is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Katharine Boos, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Howard Backsen, Marion, Iowa. Other survivors include three grandsons and two sisters, Mrs Jay and E. Noble Ball, both of Fairfield. She was also preceded in death by one son, one brother and a sister.
